What is a sanitary welded tee?
A welded tee is a T-shaped sanitary pipe fitting used for connecting branch pipes to main pipelines. Under normal use, sanitary tee fittings can be made with consistent or different diameters to connect pipes or valves with different fitting sizes.
What is the use of a sanitary butt-weld tee?
In drainage systems, sanitary t pipes are primarily used to connect horizontal drainpipes to vertical drainpipes. The central connection is usually connected to the pipe leading to the trap. Welded tees should not be used to connect vertical drainpipes to horizontal drainpipes, as solids may accumulate at the bottom of the connection, causing blockages.

Difference Between Double Sanitary Tee and Sanitary Cross
The difference between a double sanitary tee and a standard cross is that both ports have curved inlets. Although it was previously used to connect back-to-back fixed drainage pipes, some current standards (including the 2006 United States Uniform Plumbing Code) prohibit using this fitting for such purposes and require the use of double-fittings to minimize waste-water flowing from one side to the other.
