The Butt Weld Ball Valve is a type of ball valve that uses butt weld end connections. As the name suggests, this type of ball valve is connected directly to the edge of the pipeline or fitting. The 3PC butt weld ball valve (short type) is typically used in areas where a strong connection is needed but where frequent removal is not required.

The 3PC Butt Weld Ball Valve is a full-port valve commonly used in pipelines. It regulates the flow of fluid by allowing or blocking fluid flow through the pipeline. The valve features a quarter-turn design.

A typical 3 Piece Ball Valve Butt Weld has two butt weld end connections, and the central part of the valve body contains the internal components. The butt weld end connections are joined to the central components by bolts and nuts.

Due to the unique outer swing valve body design structure, you can easily access the internal components of the Butt Weld Ball Valve without cutting the pipeline, allowing for maintenance or replacement of the seat, seals, or even the entire valve internals when necessary.

A Butt Weld Ball Valve is welded directly to the pipe ends. Care must be taken during the welding process to avoid damaging the seat and seals due to the high temperature.

The installation of the 3PC Butt Weld Ball Valve (short type) includes the following steps:

● Temporarily weld (spot weld) the valve to the four points on the pipe end caps. The ball valve should be in the open position, and the extended Butt Weld Ball Valve can be directly welded.

● For short Butt Weld or Socket Weld Ball Valves, follow these steps: Unscrew the valve body and secure the seat with tape to prevent it from falling off. This requires removing the valve body bolts, leaving just one loose bolt.

● Next, complete the welding of the two end caps on the pipeline.

● After cooling, clean all the end caps and body surfaces.

● Reposition the valve body as required and replace the bolts. Slightly tighten all nuts. Ensuring the valve body and end caps are parallel is crucial to prevent deformation.

● Evenly tighten the valve body bolts. Ensure that the maximum tightening torque specified in the bolt torque data is followed.

● Finally, check if the valve operates correctly.
