Stainless Steel Socket Weld Flanges, also known as Socket Welding Flanges (SW flanges), have the same basic shape as slip-on flanges with a neck. They have a socket opening in the center of the flange into which the pipe is inserted and welded. The gap between the socket weld flange and the pipe is prone to corrosion, but this can be avoided if the internal weld is made. Socket Weld Flanges are typically used in pipelines with a pressure rating of PN≤10.0MPa and a diameter of DN≤50.
