Flanges are also called flange discs or flanges, such as flange so 150, flange so ff, flange so rf 150. A flange is a part that connects shafts to each other and is used for the connection between pipe ends. There are also flanges used on the inlet and outlet of equipment for the connection between two devices, such as the flange of a reducer. Flange connection or flange joint refers to a detachable connection formed by the interconnection of flange, gasket and bolts as a set of combined sealing structure. Pipe flanges refer to the flanges used for piping in pipe installations. When used on equipment, they refer to the inlet and outlet flanges of the equipment. There are holes on the flange, and bolts are used to tightly connect the two flanges. The flanges are sealed with gaskets. Flanges are classified into threaded connection (threaded connection) flanges, welded flanges and clamping flanges. Flanges are all used in pairs. Threaded flanges can be used for low-pressure pipelines, while welded flanges are used for pressures above four kilograms. A gasket is placed between the two flange plates, and then they are fastened with bolts. Flanges of different pressures have different thicknesses and the bolts they use are also different. When pumps and valves are connected to pipelines, the corresponding parts of these equipment are also made into flange shapes, which is also called flange connection. Any connection part that is connected and sealed by bolts around two planes is generally called a "flange", such as the connection of ventilation ducts. This type of part can be called a "flange-type part". However, this kind of connection is only a part of a device, such as the connection between a flange and a water pump. It is not appropriate to call the water pump a "flange-type part". Smaller ones such as valves can be called "flange-type parts".

In simple terms, a flange is like a "connecting part" at the interface of a pipe, shaft or equipment. It is made by pressing the two parts face to face and tightening them with bolts. A sealing gasket is placed in the middle to prevent water or air leakage. In this way, a tight connection is achieved and disassembly and assembly are convenient.
