Ball Valve Handle's Big Role

In extreme environments such as petrochemical and offshore engineering, the presence of 2-3% molybdenum added to Stainless Steel Ball Valve Handle adds to the buff of pitting and crevice corrosion resistance of the part. For example, in the piping systems of offshore oil platforms, the Stainless Steel Ball Valve Handle is able to operate stably for decades under high humidity and salinity conditions, and does not need to be replaced by the staff during this period of time. In addition, the high strength and toughness of stainless steel (tensile strength ≥ 520MPa) enables it to withstand frequent operating moments and external shocks.

Stainless steel valve handles are designed with a long lever, which reduces the operating torque by increasing the length of the force arm. For instance, DN50 (2-inch) ball valves normally have a handle length of 200-300mm, permitting 90° swivel operation at torques ranging from 0.5-1.5N-m. For large diameter valves (e.g. DN200 and above), the handle can also be equipped with a gearbox or worm gear mechanism to further reduce the operating intensity. The surface of the handle is purposely sandblasted, brushed or knurled to increase friction and prevent slippage during operation. In accordance with the requirements of the safety regulations, some handles are equipped with locking devices (e.g., locking holes or locking levers) to prevent safety accidents caused by misoperation. In chemical or explosive environments, the handles are also available in an anti-static design to avoid sparks caused by friction.
