Products Description

The tri-clamp weld ferrules are manufactured from hygienic stainless steel, with surface finishes of 180 grit on the inner diameter (ID) and 150 grit on the outer diameter (OD). These stainless steel tri-clamp fittings are designed for secure welded connections to pipes or hose fittings, allowing easy integration with clamp accessories during installation. Leadtek offers a comprehensive range of tri-clamp pipe fittings, including ferrules, roll-on ferrules, and weld ferrules, available in various configurations, shapes, and sizes.
Our tri-clamp weld ferrules and related products are kept in stock for fast shipment, helping customers reduce lead times and maintain efficient operations. At Leadtek, we are committed to simplifying hygienic fluid system solutions through reliable service, quick delivery, and a broad selection of high-quality sanitary components.
Product Advantages
Quick Assembly & Disassembly
Weld once - connect and disconnect downstream components in seconds without tools. No threading, no flanges, no special equipment required.
Full-Vacuum to High-Pressure
Long and short ferrules support high-vacuum performance across entire systems. Heavy wall variants handle elevated-pressure applications with minimum 0.083″ wall thickness.
3-A & BPE Compliance
Standard ferrules meet 3-A Sanitary Standard 63-03 (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm ID). BPE-type ferrules are available with 20Ra or 15Ra electropolish and individual MTR documentation.
Multi-Standard Compatibility
Manufactured to ISO, 3-A, SMS 1145, and DIN 11864 dimensional standards - fully interchangeable with Alfa Laval, Tri-Clover, and other major system brands.
Closed-Cap Capability
Can act as closed caps when paired with a blind end cap, effectively sealing unnecessary pipeline connections in process systems during cleaning or maintenance.
In-House Custom Manufacturing
Our own casting and CNC facility means custom OD, wall thickness, length, and finish are available without third-party delays. Send drawings for a same-day quotation.

Sanitary Tri-Clamp Ferrule Selection Guide [How to Choose Ferrules]
How to choose the right ferrule for your application
Seven standard ferrule configurations - each optimized for a specific installation method, pressure class, or regulatory requirement.

Tri-Clamp Long Weld Ferrule
The most widely used configuration. Average length just over 1″ (longer for larger diameters) provides ample clearance for butt welding, reducing the risk of heat distortion to the clamp face. Available in 304 and 316L, manufactured to 3-A standard.
Short Weld Ferrule
Average length ~½″ - functionally identical to the long ferrule but designed for space-constrained installations where a longer ferrule would interfere with adjacent components. Note that the reduced weld-land length demands higher welder precision.
Light Duty Tank Ferrule
Extended length simplifies welding to vessel nozzles and tank bottoms, particularly in breweries and wineries. The longer body provides more surface area to the vessel wall, improving joint strength and reducing distortion from heat input.
Heavy Wall Tank Ferrule
Minimum wall thickness 0.083″ (2.11mm) - designed for elevated-pressure applications and thick-walled vessels where standard-wall ferrules would be a weak point. Required in many pressure-vessel codes.
Automated Weld (BPE) Ferrule
Extended body accommodates orbital welding equipment. Meets ASME BPE (biopharmaceutical equipment) standard. Available with 20Ra or 15Ra electropolished ID finish. Supplied individually packaged with material test report (MTR) as standard.
Roll-On Expanding Ferrule
Unique slip-over design: slides over existing piping and is expanded into place with a roll tool before welding. Useful for retrofit installations where butt welding is not practical. Note: not 3-A compliant after installation (gap at pipe joint cannot be fully cleaned to 3-A standards).
Reducing (Concentric) Ferrule
Transitions between two different tri-clamp sizes in a single short fitting. Available with flat or tapered face. Shorter than a concentric reducer with full ferrule ends - ideal for compact pipe runs where a full reducer would be impractical.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between a long and short tri clamp weld ferrule?
A: The long ferrule (average length just over 1″, proportionally longer for larger diameters) is the standard choice for most pipeline applications. Its extended weld land provides more clearance during welding, reducing the risk of distorting the gasket-sealing face from heat input. The short ferrule (average ~½″) is functionally identical but designed for space-constrained installations where adjacent components limit the available length. Both are manufactured to 3-A standards and are available in 304 and 316L stainless steel.
Q: Are your ferrules compatible with Alfa Laval, Tri-Clover, and other major brand components?
A: ASME BPE (biopharmaceutical equipment standard) specifies SF1 (32Ra / 0.8μm), SF3 (20Ra / 0.5μm), or SF4 (15Ra / 0.38μm) depending on the service. Our standard ferrules meet SF1 (32Ra). For SF3 or SF4, we supply BPE Automated Weld Ferrules with 20Ra or 15Ra electropolished ID finish. These are individually packaged and ship with a material test report (MTR) as standard. Contact us to specify the required Ra grade with your order.
Q: Can you supply custom sizes or special wall thicknesses?
A: Yes. Leadtek operates its own precision investment casting and CNC machining facility in Quzhou, Zhejiang. This means custom OD, wall thickness, ferrule length, and surface finish are all achievable without relying on third-party sub-suppliers. Typical lead time for custom ferrules is 15–25 business days depending on complexity and quantity. Please send your drawings or written specifications via the inquiry form for a same-day quotation.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity? Can I order a sample first?
A: There is no minimum order quantity for standard catalog sizes - we accept small trial orders and sample requests. For free sample evaluation, we can ship up to 3 pieces (your choice of size and type) at no charge; the buyer covers freight. For custom-specification ferrules, typical MOQ is 50–100 pieces depending on size and configuration. Please contact us to confirm MOQ for your specific requirement.
Q: What is the lead time for standard and custom orders?
A: Standard catalog ferrules held in stock typically ship within 3–5 business days of order confirmation. Made-to-order standard ferrules (non-stocked sizes) are usually 7–10 business days. Custom configurations (special OD, wall thickness, finish) are typically 15–25 business days depending on quantity and complexity. Expedited production may be available for urgent requirements - please mention your deadline in your inquiry.
